Life of man – godly life with God
In John 12:25 our English translation does not convey the differences in meaning of the original tongues.
"He who loves his life will lose it; and he who has no concern for his life in this world will keep it unto life eternal."

English life .... life ...... life
Greek Psuché .... psuché ... zóé
Syriac ܢܦܫܗ ܢܦܫܗ ܠܚܝܐ
John 12:25 -ܡܢ ܕܪܚܡ ܢܦܫܗ ܢܘܒܕܝܗ ܘܡܢ ܕܣܢܐ ܢܦܫܗ ܒܥܠܡܐ ܗܢܐ ܢܛܪܝܗ ܠܚܝܐ ܕܠܥܠܡ ܀(Peshitta)
psuche refers to man's temporal life.
Zoe can refer to our physical life (James 4:14) but most of the time in the N.T. it is attached to the word eternal or a godly life. Thus, in Syriac and Greek two different words appear in the original tongues. The context in the English translation usually tells us which is meant.
